St. Andrew Christmas Novena
Since this novena is prayed during Advent, it perfectly helps us to prepare our hearts for the coming of Christ as Christmas, one of the main purposes of the Advent season.
One tip with this novena: if you have scrupulosity trying to pray the novena exactly 15 times per day, simply pray it every time it comes into your mind during each day.
(Currently our app only supports nine-day novenas, so by popular demand we are adding in this novena starting at nine days before Christmas, but hope to support novenas of differing lengths soon.)

His father desired that he study law and enter the political world, but Francis believed God was calling him to the priesthood. He did study law, but meanwhile he grew in mental prayer and also learned theology. At 26, after contention with his father, he was ordained a priest. Recall that this time period was in the first 75 years of the Protestant schisms from the Reformation. The Protestant Calvinists had a stronghold in Geneva, so Francis began a mission to lead them back to the Catholic Church. For several years, he met total failure: no one gave him the time of day, let aloned listened to him to convert back to Cath...

He sought to enter the Dominican Order, but his family stopped him for some time by capturing him and holding him in their castle. During that imprisonment, they sent in a prostitute to tempt him to sin, but he drove her out, and angels came to him and Thomas was given a special grace of not being tempted against purity again in his life (for those interested in growing in purity, search for the Angelic Warfare Confraternity established by the Dominicans through the graces given to St. Thomas with regard to purity.) Thomas went on to enter the Dominican Order, become a professor and theologian, writing the Summa Theologiae, the ...
